For site B in general:
- In the survey 40% voted in favour
- The whole area is designated as proposed open space by current CBC policies. The suggestion is that a small part of it could be used for housing.
- There is potential for delivering new footpaths/cycle ways.
B1: This part is suggested for housing. The area marked is 1.35 hectares. Access would be from Croquet Gardens. It is near to services such as schools, shops and bus routes. If it were used primarily for housing aimed at the retired there would be a relatively low impact on overall peak hour vehicular road traffic in the town.
B2: There is a network of public footpaths and permissive paths crisscrossing the site and is used as leisure area, valued by residents. There is no suitable road access.
B3: There is a network of public footpaths and permissive paths crisscrossing the site and is used as leisure area, valued by residents. There is no suitable road access. It is not conviently located for buses and shops. The area is rich in wildlife such as orchids and contains a fishing lake.
